We did it!Posted by tracey, Saturday 16th Mar
'how long does it take to walk 60k?' - the answer is 11 hr 45 mins. We did it yesterday & what a great day, we met our goal of under 12hrs.
So lucky with the weather.
We all survived & it was great to see the guys from work for our Pitt Stop at Milson's Point with food & drink, cheering uis like we just done an Olympic record.
Also thanks to Sean with the bananas at Bondi, Chris for carrying Judy's bag over the bridge & Craig for taking the bags at Balmoral so we didn't have to suffer up the last hills with them.
WELL DONE TEAM

We got to 40km!Posted by tracey, Friday 15th Feb
We did it, we hit our training goal of 40km last weekend in just over 7h. The temparture was perfect & there was no mucking around with stopping, we had a target in mind & stuck to it. Had to wonder the streets of Manly for the last couple of key to hit that 40 target. So a few other teams out and about & said hello!
Had a new team member this walk as unfortunately one member has broken her foot which we are all very upset about. Having to keep it in the family her husband has kindly stepped up.
Aiming for the long one this weekendPosted by tracey, Friday 8th Feb
So the plan for the weekend is Rushcutter's to Manly (& beyond?). This is our last long walk before the acutal day. The aim is 7 hours and 35-40k it included the lovely end hill from Clontarf to Tania Park let's see how we fair. - Look out for the results sometime next week.
Early walk from Tania ParkPosted by tracey, Saturday 2nd Feb
Stunning view to N Head. Decided to start at Tania Park with a reminder of the uphills we will experience at the end of the walk.
it was a long day!Posted by tracey, Wednesday 16th Jan
Bondi Junction to Milsons Pt (32km) a little worrying this is only half way!
We ate well but not well enough, there were a few more stairs/ hills than what we'd thought. At least there was some cloud cover.
Overall we have now walked the track in stages so have an overall picture of the day to come - good or bad!
Christmas is over & time is running outPosted by tracey, Tuesday 8th Jan

Training Walk #3 : 5hrsPosted by tracey, Friday 14th Dec
We all walked separately but committed to 5hr. Everyone pulled up fine - we're certainly getting the hang of it now!
Funny thing on the spit walk - every toilet door has a poster saying "Can you walk 60k?" - it made us smile - and yes we can!

Extended walk #2 completed on the coastaltrek route from Maroubra to Watson’s Bay (20km).Posted by tracey, Wednesday 14th Nov
Extended walk #2 completed on the coastaltrek route from Maroubra to Watson’s Bay (20km). Experiments with foot taping, socks and shoes continued and no serious issues were identified. Given the day was much hotter than our previous walk, we determined that we need to eat earlier and perhaps more frequently in order to last the full 60kms. Next walk will be closer to 30kms in December.

Very happy with the first walk, we were starting to get a few hot spots on the feet by the end of it. Next training walk is to continue to experiement and test shoes & socks!
